To celebrate Land Rover’s 70th Anniversary, Russian explorer and travel blogger Sergey Dolya makes a round the world expedition in the Land Rover Discovery
Acknowledged as a modern Russian explorer and travel blogger, Sergey Dolya took on the feat of visiting 21 countries, 6 continents in 70 days.
In celebration of Land Rover’s 70th anniversary, Sergey Dolya and his team followed in the footsteps of Phileas Fogg – a character in Jules Verne’s book, who travelled around the world in 80 days by steamships and railway. In order for the expedition to be considered as a round the world trip, it was mapped out according to certain standards. The trip had to start and end in the same location. The participants had to pass through two antipodes, which are geographic points that are on opposite sides of the globe. There’s also a compulsory run of at least 1,000km’s in each of the six continents.
Dolya has travelled to 120 countries, climbed Kilimanjaro and on more than one occasion, he’s explored the North Pole and Antarctica.
